The Outhouse That Started My Collection

Many years ago, I was in the outhouse on my grandma’s farm with my pants down. I felt the hairs on my neck rise and looked up. What I saw scared the crap out of me! A live raccoon was about 4 feet from my head in the rafters!!! Back then we left the door open to air it out and it must have gone inside. I had heard that if a raccoon is cornered, it will attack you.  I didn’t want any part of that action so I tore the door open and ran outside with my pants down. Well…my sister happened to be outside and was looking right at me laughing her head off. Years later for Christmas, she gave me a present. I opened it and what I found was a miniature outhouse with a raccoon inside! Well that is the year the Outhouses of America Tour was started. All because of an outhouse, a raccoon, a sister, a Christmas present and the Internet!

My favorite contribution sent in by a visitor who used to sing this song at girl scout campfires
